It's taken a few days but Shenandoah National Park is now fully to my south. Another week in northern Virginia and West Virginia then across the Potomac into Maryland. Stay tuned.

On April 21, 2010, after more than twenty years of dreaming, reading, planning, hoping, delaying, and anticipating, I started hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. 2,200 miles. Five million steps. Tradition demands that you assume a trail name while part of the thruhiker community. Mine will be OldSchool.
