We got a break in the weather this afternoon, and the hiking/cycling went well. Started with a great downhill thrill ride on Skyline Drive. I don't think our bikes had ever gone that fast!

On April 21, 2010, after more than twenty years of dreaming, reading, planning, hoping, delaying, and anticipating, I started hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. 2,200 miles. Five million steps. Tradition demands that you assume a trail name while part of the thruhiker community. Mine will be OldSchool.
