Getting ready to hang pack up on bear cable for the night. Several fellow hikers saw the bear who's hanging in the area. If only it could eat all the bugs! Hopefully the cold tonight will help keep them at bay.

On April 21, 2010, after more than twenty years of dreaming, reading, planning, hoping, delaying, and anticipating, I started hiking the Appalachian Trail from Georgia to Maine. 2,200 miles. Five million steps. Tradition demands that you assume a trail name while part of the thruhiker community. Mine will be OldSchool.
